Caring for your cat in Gloucester

Seasonal advice for Gloucester cat owners

Severn flood season

Gloucester is one of England's most flood-prone cities. During flood alerts, ensure cats have access to upper floors and that outdoor cat flaps can be locked to prevent cats accessing flooded areas.

Cotswold and Forest of Dean access

Gloucester cats may roam towards open countryside. Ensure outdoor cats are microchipped and that your sitter knows the usual territory. Regular tick checks are advisable in rural-access areas.

Cathedral quarter activity

Gloucester's city centre is busier around the Cathedral and Docks. Cats in central areas should be monitored around peak tourist season when footfall and noise increase.
